Meridian ranked first amongst Credit Unions, third in the Banking and Financial Services industry, and placed 51st out of 300 selected employers.

Toronto, ON – February 13, 2024 – Meridian is proud to be recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers for 2024. Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile the annual list, surveying more than 40,000 people working for Canadian companies and institutions with at least 500 employees.

“As part of our Meridian for Good strategy, we are committed to building and growing an inclusive and diverse team that is equipped to achieve their best life,” said Patty Johns, Meridian’s Chief People and Culture Officer, “this means taking the time to understand what is important to our employees, investing in them, and being there for them.”

Survey participants rated their organizations based on various topics including salary, gender pay-equity, work flexibility, opportunities for promotion and on-the-job training. They were also asked if they would recommend their employer to others and given an opportunity to rate other employers in their respective industries.

“We are proud of the inclusive, transparent, and people-focused culture at Meridian that prioritizes financial confidence for Members and employees, a commitment to a healthy work-life balance, and ensuring our team is supported in developing a fulfilling career here at Meridian,” said Johns. “From being a certified Living Wage Employer to supporting causes our employees care about, investing in our people and the communities we serve is an important part of what makes us, us.”

Meridian employees benefit from competitive compensation, impactful and flexible wellness solutions, leadership that is committed to investing in their teams, and being part of an organization that is driven by its purpose – not profits.
