with $250,000…

and it’s centred on helping…

those facing economic barriers…

get access to education, a skilled trade…

and a career in skilled trades.

So, it’s a holistic approach to helping the whole person…

to improve their economic outcome.

[Man with the long braid and tan vest now speaks to the camera. Words appear: SEBASTIAN CLOVIS, Owner at Clovis Construction Management, Television Personality.]

The reason why we call this program Reframe is because, in building…

[Sebastian sits on elevated, unfinished wooden floor and shakes the hands of the men he was speaking to earlier.]

and I think in so many things in life, it’s about…

[Close up of Sebastian speaking at microphone.]

looking at the problem from different perspectives.

[Pulled out view of Sebastian speaking, so we can now see the audience listening to him.]

It really is just an opportunity…

[Sebastian speaks to camera.]

for a creative solution, and here…

[Close, side view of Alex, speaking to Sebastian and the man with the full beard.]

what Meridian is doing, is coming up with a creative solution...

[Sebastian speaks to camera.]

to a problem that affects not just the city…

[Camera pans to show large wall mural that reads: BUILDING with PURPOSE.]

not just the province, but the whole country.

The need for affordable housing…

the need for skilled trades training…

[Brandon speaks to camera.]

and people are investing in that, and we’re actually seeing incredible outcomes…

[Close up of Sebastian, who appears to be explaining something, hand raised, to someone off camera.]

It’s changing lives.

[A woman’s voice speaks over a close up of three Black men speaking in a circle. One of them, wearing glasses, smiles as he speaks.]

One of our key roles is to help all people…

[A woman with long, straight hair in a brown sweater speaks to the camera. Words appear: JAY-ANN GILFOY, President and CEO, Meridian Credit Union.]

be successful. So we’ve put housing…

[Close up of housing blueprints.]

employment…

[Camera pans to show elevated trailers, mid-construction, as a man in work boots walks to join others.]

and helping people who potentially…

[Jay-Ann speaks to camera.]

had a hard time finding work, together…

[Close shot of Jay-Ann speaking at the podium, followed by a wider shot. Next, a shot of a diverse audience smiling and applauding.]

to create a program that helps everybody.

[Sarah Saso speaks to camera. Words appear on screen: SARAH SASO, Vice President, ESG & Social Impact, Meridian Credit Union.]

Many of this housing is going to be put on flatbed trucks and sent to communities, like First Nations communities, or…

homeless veterans, or projects for affordable housing right here in this community.

[Close up of Cara nodding, while speaking to someone. Then, standing in a group, Cara leans towards Alex Nuttall, smiling and speaking as she shakes his hand.]

how we can structure our finances going forward has really been helpful.

[Cara speaks to camera.]

I definitely feel that the program has…

[Cara speaks at podium to an audience.]

brought out my confidence, grown that confidence.

[Close up of Cara speaking.]

Not only with skills, but…

[A diverse group of program trainees, including Cara, stand with Alex Nuttall and Brandon Day, posing for a photograph.]

a mental and physical aspect.

[From behind, camera follows trainee as he reaches to paint a ceiling.]

[Brandon speaks to camera. Words on screen: BRANDON DAY, Founder & CEO, Community Builders.]

When everyone has access to a job, when everyone has access to home, and when everyone has support…

they’re so much more likely to stay…

[Larger group poses for photo, including Brandon, Sebastian, Jay-Ann, Sarah, and some of the program trainees.]

employed, stay housed and stay healthy. And so…

[Brandon speaks to camera.]

Yeah, we can’t say enough about the amazing people that are…

[Close up of Brandon at podium, smiling while he speaks.]

coming along to join us…

[Diverse audience applauding.]

in this journey.

[Group of program leaders and trainees, alongside Meridian representatives. All have their hands in, then lift them in a cheer.]
