Toronto, ON – Meridian is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Seagrim, Chief Digital & Marketing Officer (CDMO), effective May 1, 2023.

As Meridian’s Chief Digital & Marketing Officer, Matthew will be responsible for spearheading and advancing Meridian’s new multi-year corporate strategy, Meridian for Good, across data, digital, IT and marketing functions, which includes both enterprise deliverables and cross-functional support.

Matthew will lead the evolution of Meridian’s brand narrative to support its purpose and vision. His strategic lens will be leveraged to help build strong, vision-oriented initiatives, evolving digital integration into an omni-channel experience, and developing and advancing a partnership strategy to guide the enterprise in making sound and sustainable decisions in connection to our Member experience, technology, digital and data investments.

“Matthew’s role is key in helping Meridian articulate our new strategy, Meridian for Good, as we continue to evolve our journey as a relevant financial partner with digital and business savvy,” said Jay-Ann Gilfoy, President & CEO, Meridian. “Our extensive search for a strong digital, technology and marketing leader to help us achieve our long-term Meridian for Good goals led us to Matthew. All good things are worth waiting for and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Matthew has spent his career supporting leading financial services players through periods of growth and transformation including TD, Citibank, PC Financial, followed by AIMIA, where he spent eight years in various executive positions overseeing strategy, product development, and innovation. Most recently, Matthew spent seven years leading Scene+, one of Canada’s leading loyalty programs where he redefined Scene+’s brand and value proposition, transformed their data infrastructure to become digital first, and invested in technology to drive flexibility and automation. His contributions translated to significant growth in the scale and breadth of the program and attraction of new partnerships.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Meridian team, and to have the opportunity to support Meridian's strong purpose to help Members achieve their best lives,” says Matthew. “Relationships and trust are defining elements of how Meridian engages with its Members and customers. Connecting with people both personally and digitally is how we can reach and serve more people and help make their goals a reality.”

Matthew is recognized as an industry thought leader and sought-after speaker at industry engagements. He serves on the Board of Directors for Give a Mile, a registered charity in Canada and the U.S. that provides flights for people at end of life to connect with their loved ones for a final goodbye.
